The Childbirth Resource Center of Grenada is an exciting program that serves pregnant and newly parenting women and teens.

There are so many reasons why the women of Grenada, West Indies need and deserve help in general, and specifically in the area of Pregnancy, Childbirth and Early Parenting. Even before the devastation of Hurricane Ivan in 2004, which increased unemployment and poverty, the lack of resources available to women was an ongoing challenge. Currently, there is still little in the way of perinatal services beyond routine and emergency medical care. This program serves to fill the gap in services by offering education, resources and support. Coordinator, Heather Struckman has worked in the field of Pregnancy and Childbirth for over nine years. Her personal commitment has always been to serve women and teens who are faced with challenges such as...

  • limited family and/or social support.
  • high risk pregnancy
  • trauma from a previous birth, loss or sexual assault.
  • personal financial hardship.

The Childbirth Resource Center will hold to this same commitment. Therefore, regardless of a woman's ability to pay, we offer:

  • Childbirth preparation classes
  • Lending Library
  • Birth Counseling
  • Labor support
  • Lactation support with telephone hot-line
  • Workshops on Healthy Pregnancy, Breastfeeding & Parenting
  • Support groups around issues concerning lactation, postpartum depression, grief & loss and domestic violence
  • Referrals to conventional and alternative birthing professionals
  • And one day, Trainings for women in Grenada who are interested in pursuing a career as a...
    • Childbirth Educator
    • Birth Doula or Post Partum Doula
    • Lactation Consultant

Due to the lack of local resources, The Childbirth Resource Center urgently needs your help. By responding now, you can play a part in keeping this program going. Assuring women that they will be supported during pregnancy, even unplanned pregnancy, can give them the encouragement they need to embrace motherhood!
